Cause at that price it’s like why not.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I’m not actually going to buy this, I’m just doing some unnecessary car shopping. Let’s be honest, when I get a new job I’m just gonna get a cheap E90 328i with an auto cause manuals are too scarce.

Buy this and a wagon. How hard could it be to make your own E63 amg.

A weekend with a few wrenches should do it. The longroof should drop right in nicely.

If I was going to do something like that, I’d shoehorn it into a W123.

If you live near Buford I've got a great BMW and Mercedes mechanic. Really they don't charge much more than your standard Honda mechanic. They even have a friendly Germam Shepard in the waiting room.

And I’m sure the guys at Brabus or Weistec could give the motor some love while it’s out.

That’s a crackpipe price at 115k miles and four owners. They have it listed even higher than KBB prices it out at which is usually a bit high. I wouldn’t pay over $18k and that’s with a service history.

115,000 miles in 5 years on an E63 AMG? That’s impressive, and scarier than the age.

High miles and high price because of it. That being said, 10-11 E63 is my absolute favorite E-AMG. They’re generally pretty well sorted. None of the early M156 issues, or trans issues, etc. Just expensive brakes and tires!

I really like these, I was curious what you’d say.

I don’t really have a permanent home, I’m with my parents in Roswell until I find a new job.

You should go drive it just for fun.

Might have to. I drove a C63 for the same reason, because I could.

Very similar. But more power, better interior, better build quality, better suspension, etc. Founding on the year/options of the C, this would have better trans and diff as well. But also bigger and heavier.

It was a 2009 with 85k miles on it. The interior seemed like it was falling apart and I can’t stand how Mercedes put the cruise stalk above the indicator stock in those. Every time I went to indicate, I engaged the cruise.

Pre-facelift, so on the cheap and weak side as far as 63's go. Stalk locations drove me nuts for a long time, but I got used to it. This E should be far better than that C, even with "high" miles.

Is it right or wrong to think you are okay with older MBs so long as you stay away from the turbochargers and anything bigger than a V8?

It’s really hard to make such a generalized statement to be honest. Pick a time period and I can tell you cars I like and cars I don’t, for various reasons.
What do you mean by older? 5 years? 20 years?
Benz didn’t use many turbos before ~12, unless it was a diesel or V12. V12's are awesome, as long as you can afford and expect ridiculous upkeep. Most everything in the last 5 years can be fixed with software, aside from a relatively small amount of other weird things that are usually very minor.
I also tend to avoid early-mid 90's stuff because it’s too electrically complex for how stupid it is, and weird diagnostic information can be nearly impossible to find.
Usually good vs bad comes down to chassis generation and pre vs post facelift.
Almost every year of our 6/8 cylinder engines in the last 20 years are amazing. Worst probably being 06-early 07 m272/273 engines with balance shaft issues; even though all later years of those engines are damn near Toyota levels of reliable.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, if you’re curious about something specific, just ask, I’ll be happy to write an encyclopedia on the subject

There are a shit ton of autos E90s with like 60k miles on them for like 14k. I’d get another 1 series, but I couldn’t buy a worse one than I had for more cause the ATL market is different than the Texas market. Well there is this.

It’s surprising how cheap lease spec E90's are. Almost makes me want to pick one up...even though my driveway is packed.

They are very cheap, which is why I might pick one up for DD duty. I had a 128i in addition to my M3, but that got sold when I lost my job. Did really like the 128i and would have no problem owning another BMW with that engine.
